Whether you play seven card stud poker or 5 card stud poker or Carribbean stud poker or any other poker variant, a certain degree of aggressiveness becomes necessary. Well, there is a common misconception that being aggressive means betting a lot, but truly aggression in poker relates to identifying all your option and playing in a way that you get towards the best possible decision in each of your move.  When you are going to make correct decisions in each of your moves, then naturally you will win more of the times.

Betting high is not the single facet of aggression.  Since betting is what that keeps all the poker games going, when you are aggressive you are going to be stubborn about your stand and you will prefer to have your opponent fold if you are strong.  When you require having your opponent fold, all you will be doing is to bet in a way that they are tired or scared to play anymore and they fold.

So, where there is an undying opponent it becomes necessary to bet more to prove to him repeatedly that you are better than he; however, sometimes aggression fails when it is practiced with the wrong hand. You need to have a solid hand to make an aggressive play.
